Paper, Steel, Paper is an installation made from recycled paper, steel can and plastic bottle bales. 1 Chimney is a five minutes video recording of an industrial chimney at the local Corus steel works.

The work questions the familiar and that which is taken for granted. By transforming everyday materials and scenes, and placing them in a different context – ie. the gallery, the work creates a contemplative space intending to invite reflection. The installation compliments the gallery’s monumental architecture and evokes a phenomenal sensory experience affecting the viewer on different levels.
